The time it was a monthly recap {9}

Hiiiiiiiii!!  Can you even believe that February is over? Time is just flying by.

recap

Ready for the recap?  It’s not as insane as January’s recap, but it does seem to be a bit lengthy.  Settle in.  Maybe get a drink.

Read

In February, I read a total of 27 books! {click on the cover for my review on GR}

I was so spoiled in February.  Ashley Elston sent me an arc of her upcoming book This is Our Story, Harlequin Teen sent me Walk the Edge by Katie McGarry, I got my greedy hands on The Rose and the Dagger by Renee Ahdieh, and Gallery Books sent me Beautiful Boss by Christina Lauren.  Abrams sent me The Haters, complete with awesome packaging and a finished copy of Seven Ways We Lie.

I also got to go into the super secret back room at MG and came out with a box of arcs…I didn’t get a chance to take a photo of those, so I’ll include them in March’s recap.

Special stuff:

  • Reading Rewind: Katie and I reread If I Stay and Where She Went
  • Cover reveal: for The Secret Ingredient of Wishes by Susan Bishop Crispell {+giveaway still active!}

misc

  • I started a personal Instagram account.  Ever since I turned my regular one into a bookstagram account, I’ve been toying with the idea of starting another one…so I did.  This one will have my pictures from book events, SDCC, Disneyland, and who knows what else. It’s almost guaranteed to be a hot mess.  Beware.
  • Speaking of IG, I tried doing something different with the #staceespotw feature.  I held a week long giveaway where all you had to do was share the books you’ve been reading and loving and use the hashtag. I really liked seeing what you guys were doing, so I might hold another one in the future.
  • Back in January, Entertainment Weekly put out the challenge to anyone who had a fan tattoo to submit a photo to them.  They were going to go through all of the entries and pick their favorite 50 to showcase on the EW website.  I submitted my Harry Potter tattoo, but wasn’t actually expecting to make the list {because really, you know they got a shit load of pictures}, but it was number 11!!

  • And if that wasn’t cool enough, I made the Goodreads ranking list again.  It started at #52 and by the end of the week, I hit #48. This time I also had an overall, global ranking.  I’m just blown away by this.

GR

  • AND THEN…the blog hit 3000 followers on Bloglovin’!!!

up

  • Fangirling Marissa Meyer, April Genevieve Tucholke, Jessice Brody and more at Ontario Teen Book Fest, Veronica Rossi, Mary Pearson, Kiersten White, Alison Goodman, Rachel Hawkins, Alwyn Hamliton, April {again!} and Sabaa Tahir for Penguin Teen on Tour.  We’re also going to Wondercon for one day, but I have no idea what’s happening there.
  • Interviewing Katie McGarry for Walk the Edge
  • Reading Rewind: Katie and I are reading different books this month.  I think I’m going to read The Selection.
  • I’m getting a tattoo on Tuesday!  This time it’s a Jack Skellington/Haunted Mansion mash up from Karen Hallion

What about you? How was your February? What was your favorite read?

    Wow! What an insanely awesome book month! You’ve gotten SO MUCH done… Do you ever sleep? Lol. Congrats on reading 27 books! I love your list of what you’ve read, too… I haven’t read even half of those but there are several that I’ve read (and loved) and many that I *want to read.
    I’ve been in a book slump this month but I *did get to read Rebel of the Sands, The Forbidden Wish and Truthwitch. OMG,SO MUCH BOOK LOVE. Just pure reading pleasure. So maybe it was less of a book slump and more of a book hangover from those books. Lol. Congrats on your GR ranking and all the followers! That’s quite an accomplishment! I’m really looking forward to all you have in store for March! :)

      Ooooh. Those three books that you read and loved were so good. They were all totally capable of hangovers.

      Thank you for reading and commenting!!

  2. I am… in awe. You read a book a day – almost! I second what Sarah asked: Do you ever sleep?! Haha.

    I admit to being green with envy at some of the books you read, especially The Glittering Court and The Rose and the Dagger. I hope you loved both of them! :-)

    Sounds like you have another busy month ahead. Wishing you all the best, and that you enjoy it to the fullest <3

      I do sleep! I tend to read before I go to sleep, but we also had a couple of lazy weekends where I spent time reading the entire time…

      I loooooooved Rose and The Glittering Court. They were both so good.

      Thanks for reading and commenting!!

  3. Ha ha, I have only read 11 books since the beginning of the year! Your HP tattoo is stellar, and congratulations on your GR ratings! My high point was realizing that four of the books I read in February were diverse in nature and counted towards my Diversity Challenge totals. I have an ARCpocalypse happening for March, April, and May, but June is semi clear and I only have one for July, so I am going to finally have time for some personal reading. Have wonderful March, Stacee.

      Yay for hitting challenge counts!! What are you looking forward to reading outside of review books?

      Thanks for reading and commenting!!

  4. Congratulations on all the milestones! I think February 2016 was like Christmas with all the fantastic new releases. I couldn’t stop reading and loved all of them. I also really like your tattoo.

      February was insane for releases! And I am quite partial to my tattoo, my artist is a genius.

      Thank you for reading and commenting!!

  5. Wow! February was an awesome month for you! I remember the tattoo thing, that was so cool! I didn’t know Goodreads had a rating thing like that. Interesting. Since most of my reviews get posted on my blog, I don’t probably qualify for that. I wish I could read that many books in a month. Jealous of that! I’m going to get my 2nd tattoo I think, and it will be another book related tattoo. Hoping to get it sometime in March! Just saw that the author was getting the same thing! So now I’m really excited to get it. :-) Hope you have a great week coming up. You can check out my Sunday post in the link below.

      Ooooh!! What is your current tattoo and what are you planning to get? If you post reviews on GR, then you qualify for the rankings.

      Thanks for reading and commenting!!

  6. Ahh, your February sounds like it was so awesome :D And sigh. You always manage to read so much :) I’m jealous. <3 I adored Rebel of the Sands. Still need to read The Dark Days Club :) Soooon.
