The time it was a mutiny {4}

Hi guys! Welcome to another edition of the mutiny.

What’s the mutiny you ask? Well, I have always said that I wasn’t going to become a review blog and yet, I’ve had this itch in the back of my head… so here we are. I’m waging a mutiny against myself and I’m going to do some mini reviews + feature upcoming reads I’m excited about.

For this specific edition, I’m going to share some my favorite reads from March, so settle in!

There’s Something About Sweetie by Sandhya Menon — 5 ★ — This book was everything I could have wanted for Ashish.  I loved Sweetie so so much.  She’s sweet and strong and there’s just so much positive rep here.  Plus I absolutely loved the character growth for Ashish.

The Kingdom by Jess Rothenberg — 5 ★ — This entire book is bananas and I loved it.  The story is told through trial transcripts, video clips, and present tense first person and it unfolds in the most delicious way.

Finale by Stephanie Garber — 5 ★ — I don’t think it’s a secret that I’ve loved the Caraval series.  I’ve seen Finale arcs getting delivered and even though I know it’s a long shot, I’m absolutely stalking my mailbox to see if I get one.  In the meantime, I did get an e-arc and let me tell you, it was glorious! I can’t wait to get a finished copy and binge.

Capturing the Devil by Kerri Maniscalco — 5 ★ — Sooo, I got my very greedy hands on this one and I absolutely devoured it.  I’ve been a huge fan of these books as well as Audrey Rose and Thomas and I couldn’t wait to see how it all wraps up.  I will not give spoilers, but I will say that it was a crazy roller coaster and I loved every single page of it.

Devil’s Daughter by Lisa Kleypas — 5 ★ — I had been seeing the gorgeous cover for Devil’s Daughter all over instagram and it intrigued me.  I checked out a couple of Lisa’s books from my local library and devoured three of them in about 2 days, with this being the first one I read {yes, I know I should have read them in a different order}. I loved Phoebe and West and how they got to know each other.  The scenes with West and Phoebe’s kids were adorable and the chemistry was off the charts. I’m ready to take a deep dive into Lisa’s backlist.

Devil in Spring by Lisa Kleypas — 5 ★ — And this was the next one I read…yes, I kept reading backwards and this one was my favorite.  I loved Pandora and Gabriel and JFC, their banter was amazing.  I’ve read one other book in this series and also enjoyed it. I can’t wait to keep reading.

Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson —  I’ll be completely honest and say that I have no idea what this book is about.  I haven’t read the synopsis, but I love that cover and An Enchantment of Ravens.  Plus, I’ve seen a few people I trust already talking about how much they loved the story.

The Rogue of Fifth Avenue by Joanna Shupe — Joanna’s Four Hundred series is one of my favorite historicals. I love them so much, I have actual mass market paperback copies. I just got approved for an e-arc of this one and I’m so excited to get to a new series of hers.

What about you? Have you read any of these books or do you want to?

  1. I’m super intrigued by The Kingdom! It sounds so good, and the unique formatting makes it sound even better! And I’m in a similar situation with Sorcery of Thorns. I don’t know much about it but I liked An Enchantment of Ravens enough that I don’t really need to!

      I was pleasantly surprised by the kingdom! And I agree completely with what you said about Sorcery. I hope we both love it!
