We all know my about my undying love and affection for Megan Erickson, yes? Not only is she on my auto-buy list because her words are awesome, but she is an amazing and fun person. I’ve had her on the blog so many times, I had to figure out some questions to ask her that weren’t repeats.

But, before we get to Megan’s interview, let’s check out the book!

DirtyDeeds HiRes jpg (002)Alex Dawn is saying no to men. No to bad relationships, disappointments, and smooth-talkers. Focusing on her family and her job at Payton and Sons Automotive keeps her mind occupied and her heart content. She doesn’t really miss a man’s touch, until one night, a man shows up with the body of a god and a voice from her dirtiest dreams.

L.M. Spencer is only in Tory, Maryland, to scope out the town as a possible site for one of his company’s hotels. The British businessman didn’t expect his car to break down or to find the hottest little American he’s ever seen holding a tire iron, piercing him with bright blue eyes.

They agree to one hot night, one dirty deed to burn out the chemistry between them. But from their first kiss, Alex can’t stop saying yes to this man. And when Spencer’s company threatens everything she cares about, they must make the choice to stand together or apart.

Sounds good, right?

right

1. Give the elevator pitch for Dirty Deeds.

Brash female mechanic meets a British businessman. It’s only supposed to be one night, until it isn’t.

2. Why do you love Alex and Spencer and why should we root for them?

Oh man, I love Alex and Spencer so much because I think they bring out the best in each other. Spencer helped Alex learn to love herself again, and in turn, able to love someone else. And Alex taught Spencer what it was like to commit to someone.

3. What was your favorite scene to write?

I loved writing the scene where Alex and Spencer break Cal’s porch railing. You have to read the book to see what I mean, but it really made me laugh.

4. Out of the three Payton boys, who was the easiest to work with? Who was the hardest?

Cal was the hardest. He was really, really stubborn and there were times I wanted to smack him. Brent was the easiest. He was such a blast to write!

5. What’s next for you AKA: Will I ever get Delilah’s story?

Haha, it’s not contracted right now but I’m not ruling it out! Right now I’m working on some side projects that are super fun for me.

6. What book do you wish you could read again for the first time?

Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane. That book was a mind trip.

7. Is there anything special that you need when writing? {Particular music/setting/food, etc}

I actually work best in silence. And no one around me. So I usually hole up in my bedroom.

8. What is the most drastic thing you’ve ever done for a deadline?

This isn’t really drastic, but I’ve definitely shipped my kids off to their grandparents to spend the night.

9. Who are your auto-buy authors?

Kristen Ashley, Alexis Hall, Santino Hassell, KJ Charles, Lia Riley, AJ Pine.

10. What are you reading or watching right now?

I’m about to start a YA book called Little Brother by Cory Doctorow. A friend recced it to me.

megan14-200x300Megan Erickson grew up in a family that averages 5’5” on a good day and started writing to create characters who could reach the top kitchen shelf.

She’s got a couple of tattoos, has a thing for gladiators and has been called a crazy cat lady. After working as a journalist for years, she decided she liked creating her own endings better and switched back to fiction.

She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, two kids and two cats. And no, she still can’t reach the stupid top shelf.
